The ASC will serve following countries in Europe : France, Austria, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Turkey, United Kingdom and Germany. The ASC is using Oracle 11i Accountng software linked to Purchasing and Expenses.
In a Shared Services Center processes are centralized. Major savings can be obtained simply by centralization and reorganizing the processes.
But the centralization can also result a some processes to become less efficient especially when interaction is required with departments that are not part of the centralization process. A good example is supplier invoice posting. When for certain invoices an approval must be obtained from people that are remote from the shared services center, then the question is how do you get this approval in the most efficient way. Imaging can bring a solution. In my last project I gained experience in setting up imaging and archiving software for incoming and outgoing invoices.
The Single Billing Entity is the group entity that will invoice all customers independently where the product is sourced from. This can be achieved through different legal structures such as tolling, buy-sell or agency. A single billing entity has major implications on VAT compliance and as part of our most recent project, we acquired knowledge about the registration and reporting requirements in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, United Kingdom, Germany, Spain and Italy.

Through the set-up of an in house banking system, a group of affiliated companies can reduce the number of bank accounts. One company acts as the in house banker for the other companies. Such a structure however has major implications on Central Bank reporting in some European countries. We have experience with Central Bank Reporting in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Spain , Italy and Germany.
